Ariane Butto, a Parisian illustrator, has designed a collection of seven panoramic murals for Ananbô. The style is rich and colourful, bordering on naïve art, engraving and gouache. A joyful ode to travel, with an atmosphere of exotic tales. Ariane paints landscapes in gouache, sometimes from her imagination, sometimes from her travels in Asia. She likes to keep the slight imperfections of her handmade work, so as to create poetic, colourful tales. Birds, women and felines are her favourite subjects, which she likes to bring together in the depths of lush jungles.

With a background in textile design and a deep love for travel, Ariane Butto transitioned into illustration in 2018, creating all her works by hand with a bold emphasis on color and gouache painting techniques. Ariane’s universe is one of joy and vibrancy, resonating with the child within us all and transporting us into imaginary worlds filled with lush jungle animals, towering foliage, and dreamlike landscapes.
Her distinctive style blends:
• Bold, flat color fields that envelop the viewer in warmth.
• A fusion of naïve art, engraving, and gouache painting.
• Mischievous yet refined storytelling, naturally aligning with Ananbô’s love for travel and extraordinary decors.
The transition to large-scale wall murals was an exciting new challenge for the illustrator. In close collaboration, Ananbô worked with Ariane to translate her intricate, colorful universe into the stunning SiBô Collection—a seamless fusion of art, fantasy, and storytelling.

Her storybook-like landscapes, available in both color and monochrome, enchant viewers of all ages, transforming interiors into whimsical escapes full of imagination and magic.
